This season at the Wizards training camp, coach Flip Saunders has been handing out a Wizards logo infused hard hat at the end of each day of practice as a way to motivate the players to work hard. This is great, but I think I heard about this somewhere before...
Back in 2008, former Capital Chris Clark presented Brook Laich with a construction helmet with his number on it to wear during interviews due to his stellar play in that night's win. The Hershey Bears did it before the big team and Clark stole this idea from the '03 Flames, one of his former teams. The Flames got the idea when Craig Conroy brought it from St. Louis. That's as far as I traced it back.
I think they should start giving out mouse pads. I work hard at work despite being on a computer all day!
Do the Caps still do this every win?
