Friday, Dec 9th:  Toronto Maple Leafs @ Washington Capitals (7:00pm)

On Friday night the Caps (14-13) return to the Verizon center for a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs (15-13). The Capitals are looking to keep up the momentum that was sparked in the 3rd period of their game on Wednesday night and channel it into the start of a big streak.

The last time these two teams met the Caps were embarrassed as they lost 7-1 in Toronto in their worst performance of the year so far. In that matchup the combination of Neuvirth and Vokoun were just as terrible as the offense and I believe Bruce Boudreau was all but gone after that loss. (he lasted another week).

Alex Ovechkin is looking to continue his charge in front of the home crowd after a big game on Wednesday (and avoiding any punishment for the cheap shot he gave out). If the Great 8 can play with the fire he had against the Senators the Caps should be in good position for a high scoring affair.

While I wrote this post I enjoyed a delicious smorgasbord of Papa John's pizza, breadsticks, parmasean garlic breadsticks, and cheesebread. Thanks Caps, let's get another win on Friday night and 4-5-6 goals so we can get 50% off again!

I also just realized that this hockey team is named after a Leaf. Not a killer animal, a leaf. That is all...
