The NHL has named John Carlson the Third Star of the Week. Carlson had 7 points in that time and he is currently in the midst of 4 straight games with points in the scorebook.
First his very own carpet commercials where he plays hockey in the mud, and now an honor that only like 400 NHL players get per season. Carlson would have had more than 7 points if that pesky Dennis Wideman didn't hog all the points in the last game against the Leafs.
With Mike Green out for possible 100 years, it is nice to see this offensive production from two of our defenders. It isn't a surprise that the Caps are scoring and winning with these 2 guys contributing.
Wait, Dennis Wideman. He can be D-Wide. Finally an NBA style nickname!
Tommy Vokoun & Nick Backstrom have both been the NHL 3rd Star this season. This is Carlson's first star of the week in his career.
