Mike Green To Miss More Games

DC Sports Nexus ---- Friday, March 9, 2012

Mike Green, who I don't really know because I've only watched hockey this year and he has only played in 20 games this season, has been suspended for 3 games for an elbow to the head of a Lightning player on Thursday night.

Green returned for good from injury in mid February and has talleyed a total of 0 points in the 10 games after his return.  He really needed to play in some games and hopefully warm up in time for the playoffs.  However that will all be put on hold for 3 games after Green went high on Brett Connelly.

The injury has really hurt Green this season.  He tried to come back early 2 different times just to go right back onto the injured list.  The 10 games back was his longest streak of games played all season and is now going to end at 10.  That means his max game streak on the season is going to be 12 games, if he can last til the end.

I would say the best players on the Caps are Ovi, Backstrom, Semin, and Green?  Backstrom is out, Sasha is possibly being demoted, Green is injured/struggling, and Ovi shows up every once in a while.  Can the Caps band together?  Will Green come back to his old form after the suspension?  Stay Tuned!
